Matt Kuchar wins WGC event at Arizona

In spite of the weather stealing much of the show in Tuscan, Arizona, it was Matt Kuchar who finished the World Golf Championship Accenture Match Play Championship with the prestigious trophy in his hands.

Kuchar went face to face with Hunter Mahan, the defending champion for the title and not only did he brave the weather, he overcame Mahan 2 and 1 in the match for the championship played on Sunday, the 24th of February to take home the title.

Dustin Johnson’s topnotch performance

Dustin Johnson has obtained two birdies of the final three holes to win the St. Jude Classic, with Rory McIlroy, the reigning U.S. Open winner, got a pair of bogey on the final hole.

Johnson secured his 6th win in the US PGA Tour, with his first in the Barclays the previous year when he achieved a 66 finish, 4-under par, including birdies at par-4 16th hole as well as par-4 17th.

Johnson finished hole 72 on 9-under par 271, with John Merrick behind him by just a stroke away.

American golfer Jim Furyk is not only one of the most respected and revered golfers on the PGA Tour, he is also one of those golfers who has enjoyed immense success on the course since he joined the PGA Tour as a fresh faced 20 year old so long ago in 1992.

And one of his favorite courses, according to the man himself is the Quail Hollow, the venue of the Wells Fargo Championship, where he not only won the title back in 2006, but also lost in the playoffs to Fijian golfer Vijay Singh just the year before that.
