American golfer Jim Furyk is not only one of the most respected and revered golfers on the PGA Tour, he is also one of those golfers who has enjoyed immense success on the course since he joined the PGA Tour as a fresh faced 20 year old so long ago in 1992.
And one of his favorite courses, according to the man himself is the Quail Hollow, the venue of the Wells Fargo Championship, where he not only won the title back in 2006, but also lost in the playoffs to Fijian golfer Vijay Singh just the year before that.
It is one of those courses that he excels in, in spite of the relative difficulty that most others find in navigating it and prior to his embarking on the course, he was asked what made him tick at the Quail Hollow, to which, Furyk amiably answered that he loved the course and he could not but the think that the feeling was mutual, with a smile. And it is evident from his focus that the 42 year old Jim Furyk is ready to lift the crown once more, as he looks to build some momentum heading into the unofficial fifth Major of the golfing the calendar, the US PGA Players Championship at the TPC Sawgrass, staring from the 10th of May and going on till the 13th of May.
However, Furyk will be the first person to admit that on current form, he will not be the favorite to win the title at the Wells Fargo Championship, in spite of having the best driving accuracy in the course and having missed only one cut in his eight previous quests at the Hollow.
But Jim Furyk is not one to let any tag bother him and he will surely put on a show at the Quail Hollow.
