British golfer Justin Rose will embark on another attempt at winning an event on the FedEx Cup playoff events with the Deutsche Bank Championship after finishing tied for second at The Barclays last weekend.
The golfer from the north of Hampshire will go into the second of the four playoff events of the FedEx Cup at seventh in the standings of the FedEx Cup and he is well within his rights to think about claiming the title at the end of the season and lay his claim to the $ 10 million jackpot that will be available to winner at the end of the season.
The seventh place in the rankings has a lot to do with his success at the US Open this season as he managed to win his first major title since turning professional. With only the top 100 players on the rankings taking part in the event, Justin Rose will fancy his chances as things start to heat up.
He knows that a win in the playoff events will be worth a lot more points than winning any other title on the Tour and he will also be happy with the fact that the points margin will be reset when The Tour Championship tees off, which will favor the leader but will ensure the rest of the field has an equal chance of winning the title and pocket the handsome prize money.
Justin Rose has done very well this year especially in the playoff events over the last two years. Last year, he finished second at The Tour Championship to finish sixth overall while he finished fifth the year before after winning at The Barclays. And he hopes he will be able to do better this year and cap off what has already been an amazing year.
