Personal Statement: Hello, my name is Zach Sawyer. I am 15 years old and I am a sophomore in high school. I live in
Butte, Montana and I attend Butte High. Over these past months I have been practicing as much as I can to become
better, that was going well until my irons started breaking and I got new ones. After that my game went downhill and I
lost my varsity spot. I am focusing on bringing back my game that I used to have. I have been golfing for about 3 years
now and I started playing competitive golf my freshman year. Although I am self taught, I have learned lots from my
teammates and my brother who is also on the golf team. I am looking forward to improving my game and am hoping to
someday play college golf. I had a rough freshman year and didn’t focus on school much because of hockey which I
now regret. I have quit hockey and am now focusing on my studies and golf. I have lived in Montana all my life and I
love playing golf here.
